*Roads are maintained but the wind and snow in the fall, winter and Spring can be unpredictable. We HIGHLY recommend an AWD vehicle in the winter and shoulder months.

In winter, the area transforms into a snowy wonderland with opportunities for snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and cozy evenings by the fire. And with Yellowstone only a short drive away, adventure is always within reach.
The two closest major airports are Bozeman, MT and Idaho Falls, Idaho. There is also a small West Yellowstone Airport.
Note: Some homes in this area may experience a slight discoloration in the water due to naturally high iron content—this is normal for the region. This home is equipped with a water filtration system, including a softener, a sediment filter, a UV light, and a carbon filter. Some guests choose to use bottled water for drinking during their stay in Island Park, which is totally fine and a common preference.
