Welcome to ‘The Blue Vistas’, our summer vacation cottage nestled in the picturesque seaside Village of Humarock in Scituate, Massachusetts! Enjoy leisurely mornings on the Oceanside deck watching the sunrise over Cape Cod Bay listening to the sounds of sea and land birds as you sip your morning coffee. Equally delightful is enjoying the sunset on the Riverside Deck while you cook your dinner on the grill! Later, return to the Oceanside deck while you enjoy a refreshing beverage as you admire the beautiful ocean view. From the inside, there are views, views, views from every main room so you can admire the calming blue beauty of the ocean and river from virtually any vantage point!
In less than a 15 second walk you are on the private beach! Our spacious ranch-style cottage is in a fantastic quiet residential neighborhood and can comfortably accommodate up to 8 people with parking for up to six cars. Outside, the large sunny Riverside Deck has unobstructed views of the South River and has a patio table with eight chairs which is great for outside dining, two lounge chairs for sunning and a gas propane grill. The over-sized Oceanside Deck with unimpeded oceanfront views has plenty of outdoor furniture for relaxing and catching a nice ocean breeze! After enjoying a day at the beach, use the outside shower with hot and cold water under the Riverside Deck to rinse off. There is also plenty of room under this deck to store your beach chairs, coolers, kayak, surfboard, bikes, fishing gear, etc.
Inside the spacious open floor plan is light and bright. There are four bedrooms, two full bathrooms and the kitchen is fully equipped with all the necessities you will need including a Keurig machine. The large table off the kitchen seats eight-ten and is perfect for dining and playing family games! In the living room enjoy the clear ocean views through three six-foot sliders from the comfort of the sectional couch while hanging out or watching TV. Just off the living room are two bedrooms--one with a king-sized bed and the other has two twin beds. In the Lower Level you will find the two additional bedrooms--one with two twin trundle beds and the other has a full sized bed--and a laundry area with washer/dryer. Central air conditioning and box fans are available. All the bedding, bath towels and beach towels as well as the cable TV and Wi-Fi are provided upon your stay at no additional charge. Also available is a Pack & Play with mattress and sheets as well as an infant dining Booster Seat.
Take a break mid-afternoon and walk or take a bike ride to the main village about a mile away to buy an ice cream or a coffee, visit Humming Rock Gifts to purchase a souvenir, purchase fresh seafood just “off the boat” or supplies at the general store, or enjoy a meal at a local restaurant. Bring a basketball with you to use the public basketball court along the South River next to the fire station. Venture further north from main village at the public beach, about another mile, to Fourth Cliff and at low tide find some starfish and snails! With our summer cottage as your home base, you have many other tourist options as we are centrally located between Boston and Plymouth. Locally you have quick access to grocery stores, shopping and many restaurants in both Marshfield and Pembroke.
The Blue Vistas can be your oasis of calm after a busy day full of events, sights and the beach! Come stay for a long weekend, a week or two or even for a month-long respite in this little slice of Humarock heaven!
Off-Season Information: Off-season for the Blue Vistas generally starts November 15 - April 30 with discounted nightly rates (as noted on the calendar) and a minimum two-night stay is required. During the off-season, please take note that direct ocean and river views may be somewhat obstructed due to the annual installation of beveled Lexacon storm shutters on all the sliding glass doors and two bedroom windows. In addition, during that time, there will not be any furniture, grill or table fire pit available on the decks. The removal of the storm shutters and replacement of the deck furniture and grill will be dependent upon the weather between April 15 - May 1.
